What planner should I use?

Short answer: Any one you want

As I share the details about the planner party, I've received this question quite a bit: Do you need a specific planner to attend on November 16? The answer is simple – no specific planner needed, use whichever planner you love! Many people have strong loyalties to certain planner brands because they've found one that suits their needs, and I wholeheartedly support that! Others enjoy experimenting with different planners each year just for fun, and that's wonderful too! Some have mentioned they’re interested in the event but don’t use a planner at all, and that’s perfectly fine (but seriously, I need a peek inside your brain; it must be a wild ride!).

Whether it's a classic paper planner, a digital sidekick like Google Calendar or Cozi on your phone, a Skylight family calendar, or even a pile of sticky notes on your desk, anything goes—even nothing at all!

I asked on social media about which planners people recommend, and here’s a little roundup of some favorites from real users. While I can't personally vouch for most of them, they are all delightful to explore.

Ask Yourself:

Do you prefer minimal designs or something colorful and artistic?

Do you like planners with extra features like goal-setting pages, inspirational quotes, or stickers?

How portable does it need to be? Will you carry it everywhere, or will it mostly stay on your desk?

Which layouts suit your needs the best? Monthly, weekly, daily, or all of the above?

Do you require blank space for each day, or would a layout with time blocks be more beneficial?

Consider the size and weight—do you need something compact for your bag, or do you prefer a larger planner with more space to write?

Finally, think about your budget. Planners can range from simple and affordable to luxurious and high-end. What are you comfortable spending?

Taking these factors into account can help you find the planner that best fits your lifestyle and keeps you organized and inspired throughout the year!

Remember that you’re welcome at the Planner Party even if you’ve never owned a planner. I will review a few productivity books, talk about routines and systems, and then we’ll workshop some specific categories like recurring tasks and meal planning. It’ll be fun!
