One Size Doesn’t Fit All
Every person’s goals, pain points, and definition of “organized” will differ, and talking through details of your space or problem is the best way for me to determine how I can help you. Everyone needs something different when it comes to getting their space in order in a way that works for them.
Your Organizational Needs
Does one of these descriptions hit home with you?
Make it beautiful - you’re happy with the items you have and you want a beautiful space (please note, I’m not an interior designer, we’re thinking gorgeous pantry or master closet here).
Make it better - you don’t need a home to look Instagram-ready, but you’re frustrated and open to suggestions to make it better. You probably need to declutter, but you definitely want some help.
Help me - you’re so overwhelmed and disorganized and you have no idea where to start. You need a guide and a teacher.
Transition or crisis - there’s something going on in your life that necessitates organizing assistance. Perhaps it’s a life transition like moving, a wedding, divorce, or new baby, or a death in the family.
It’s fine to start with a 3-hour session to get a feel for how we work together. For some, it’s just what they need to get enough momentum to finish the projects on their own. For others, they realize this is just what they’ve been waiting for and they’re ready to make an investment to let me help them maximize their home’s efficiency.
From “Do It For Me” to “Do It Myself”
There are several different ways I can work with and for a client, which of course depends on their particular project needs and style.
Do it for you - I’ll come in and do what you need to make your space work. (Note: I can’t really declutter more than expired foods without you and I’m not throwing away your husband’s old t-shirts without his permission).
Do it with you - We’ll work side by side throughout the project to declutter and organize.
Hybrid - I can work with you to downsize and declutter, then get it all organized for you.
DIY - You can declutter and organize but you need a little push and a plan from an expert guide.
What Actually Happens
Every project I work on is personalized to meet the needs of the client, but generally speaking, my process goes like this:
Prioritize - We name what matters about the project and set goals for the session. This is often done in consultation but we’ll revisit when the project begins.
Categorize - Sorting! This is a step that is overwhelming for many, but fun for me!
Downsize - Once items are sorted it’s easier to decide what to keep and what to let go.
Reorganize - Putting things away in a manner that works best for you is where our hard work really pays off.
My last blog post outlines some Frequently Asked Questions, but feel free to reach out by responding to this email, via text or call, on social media or on my website if you have questions.
